Brown Snake Filmed Eating A Python In Brisbane Basement

If snakes aren’t your thing, you may want to look away now. When answering a call to someone’s basement in Brisbane, Australia, the N&S Snake Catcher team found an Eastern Brown snake eating a Carpet Python.

The co-owner of the firm, Sally Hill,¬†told Australia’s ABC, “We’ve never seen something like this before, it’s very rare any snake catcher gets an opportunity to witness something like this.”

Disturbing the snake too much may have made it regurgitate it’s meal, which would have been a waste. So the snake catchers hung around for a couple of hours as the snake had it’s meal, eventually slipping the pair into a bag to let nature take it’s course.

A typical meal for a brown snake includes mice, frogs and lizards, but they have been known to eat other snakes. Hill told ABC news that with rising snake populations, food competition may have contributed to the unusual choice of meal for the brown snake.
