Herd Of Buffalo Save A Male Lions Life

This amazing footage was taken in Mala Mala in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. Three large male lions are attacking another lone male. Fully intent on killing him, and very nearly succeeding, the lions are then interrupted by a herd of buffalo that were nearby. The calls of distress from the lion seem to attract their full and they come to his rescue. So it seems. However, one buffalo then proceeds to try attack the wounded cat. All in all not a very good day for this lion. And it gets worse. He survived for a whole week with what look like some very painful wounds, but it then died near a place called “Buffalo Pan.”
