This video, filmed by Bernadette and uploaded to Kruger Sightings, shows a very casual heron hitching a ride on the back of a hippo. This behaviour is apparently more common than we thought, but we can’t take any credit away from this surfer heron…
This amazing footage was taken in Mala Mala in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Our closest relatives are being wiped out and it’s all our fault.
As incredible and unique as this footage is, it is most certainly not for the faint hearted.
It’s very rare any snake catcher gets an opportunity to witness something like this.
