Rare Footage Shows Lynx Family Chasing A Hare

A lynx sighting is rare in itself – generally keeping to themselves they have earned the nickname “ghosts of the North”.

This footage, captured by Jason Rohwer and his son, shows an impressive family of six lynx hunting a hare on the outskirts of Anchorage, Alaska.

The prey on the run is a snowshoe hare, which tend to make up the bulk of a lynx diet.

“The lynx did actually get the hare,” Rohwer explains to Earth Touch News. “We watched them eat it for a little while, as they didn’t seem to mind us being within a 20-30 feet distance. It was fun to watch them hang out while each one took a turn eating what it wanted. One of them climbed a nearby birch tree.”
