A Tarantula Molting: Extra Terrifying

When tarantulas grow, like so many other animals, they molt their exoskeleton leaving a perfect body replica – minus the head and fangs.Screen Shot 2016-03-08 at 16.54.40

A perhaps more real fake spider to hang onto for a good scare prank, if you’re that special type of a**hole who has a few arachnophobic friends. In order to shed its skin the tarantula’s carapace abdomen rupture and the tarantula begins to squeeze out through the hole. The tarantula lies on its back for the procedure and is pretty immobile – the only encouraging factor to take from this video.

I understand people own these as pets?!
