Video Shows Male Lions Killing Cubs After Taking Over Pride

A lion sighting in the Serengeti that’s hard to stomach.

Whilst on a great migration safari, a guide from Five Zero Safaris and his guests witness three new males in the process of killing another males cubs. They had killed two of the four cubs a few days before, and had now found the last two left alive.

“One of the males ran off with the one dead cub, and the other cub managed to get into the base of a thick shrub. We followed the mother for the next few days, but there was no further sign of the last cub,” Five Zero Safaris writes on their YouTube post.

Watch the intense scene play out…

The females in this footage were seen with the same males everyday following this interaction, according to Five Zero Safaris.

Life is particularly tough for male lion cubs, with only about 1 in 8 surviving to adulthood.
